Little Lady Preacher
  (Four Squares 797)   Bud Taylor

one column

OPENER - CLOSER    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
Oh, the little lady preacher from the limestone church
I'll never forget her, I guess
She preached each Sunday morning on the local radio
With a big black Bible and a snow white dress

Four ladies chain, you turn the girls and then
Chain 'em back, turn your own and promenade
And a little white lace hankie marked the place that she would read
And each Sunday morning I clung to every word that lady said

FIGURE    C4, corner progression

1 & 3 square thru 4 hands around
Meet that corner lady do a dosado
You swing thru and then, boys run to the right
Bend the line, move up to the middle and back, curlique
Cast off 3/4 round and then fan the top
Swing the corner lady, promenade
Oh, the little lady preacher, I remember her well
She preached each Sunday morning in a voice clear as a bell

MIDDLE BREAK    Basic - SSD Week 4

Sides face, grand square
She had a guitar picker by the name of Luther Short
A hairy legged critter lost in sin
She would turn and smile at Luther when the program would commence
In a voice sweet as an angel, she would break out in a hymn

Four ladies chain, you turn the girls and then
Chain 'em back, turn your own and promenade
And a little white lace hankie marked the place that she would read
And each Sunday morning I clung to every word that lady said

TAG

Bow to the partner, bow to the corner
Amen
