Valrhona was founded in 1924 by a French pastry chef. It is based in the small town of Tain L'Hermitage in Hermitage, a wine-growing district near Lyon, France. Valrhona is one of the few companies in the world that produces vintage chocolate made from beans of a single year's harvest from a specific plantation.

In Venezuela, the birthplace of cocoa, Valrhona has selected and combined several cocoas with rare aromatic power born from the contrasting lands between the Caribbean coast and the Andes mountain range. From its strikingly bitter essence, Araguani offers a rich and complex aromatic profile featuring warm notes (raisins, chestnuts...) and hints of licorice.

This chocolate tasted average until about 15 seconds after eating it, at which time an intense flavor developed. A delayed reaction for sure!
