Maker Comments | Along the Maya Mountain foothills in southern Belize, indigenous Mayans were the first to commercialize cacao and their tradition lives on. In an extremely ambitous [sic] cocoa cooperative project, Maya Mountain Cacao has proven that cultivating cacao within diversified agroforestry farms provides a sustainable alternative to slash-and-burn agriculture. I take pride in contributing to their success over the last 8 years which has raised family incomes and enabled greater school enrollment. Our chocolate is beautifully complex with tropical fruit flavors, a mild nuttiness, and a touch of cream in the finish. |
