| Maker Comments | Gonzalo Martinetti is a man with a mission: to protect the unique cocoa tree species nacional arriba in its purest form. Although botanically a forastero type, Ecuador's nacional arriba is famous for its fine taste. Sub-species without the fine taste have been planted on some plantations and Gonzalo runs programs to encourage the cultivation of the real nacional arriba. His own plantation is impeccably run. Immediately fills the mouth with mellow but extremely deep chocolate flavours. Dried fruit flavours also present. Long lasting in the mouth. Aromas of roasted nuts. |
