From Facing Lines (or a R-H Tidal Wave).
- Centers Square Thru 3 as Ends Pass Thru & Ends Bend;
-
Split Square Thru 2;
-
Trade By.
Ends in an Eight Chain Thru.
注意:
-
The first movement for the Ends is a Pass Thru, not a Right Pull By.
If you do a Right Pull By, it is easy to get confused as to
which hand to use to start the Split Square Thru 2.
-
Callers often Replace the Split Square Thru 2 and|or the Trade By
with another call.
-
The final movement, Trade By, is rather tight for those doing the
Pass Thru. To make it less awkward, turn slightly to the Left while
doing the Pass Thru (turn to the Left because you have
just done a Left Pull By, and you are now "leading" with your Right
shoulder for the Pass Thru).
-
Originally, Square The Bases was written such that Double Pass
Thru was also a valid starting position. The Ends were to Divide (Veer Out) and
then proceed as in the above definition. Usage from Double Pass Thru
is considered inappropriate today.
-
Choreographically, Square The Bases is equivalent to Ends Cross Fold.
This fact is useful to dancers when dancing the call with Phantoms, and to callers when sight-calling.
Square The Bases But anything [C1]:
Do a Square The Bases but replace the Split Square Thru 2 and the Trade By with the
anything call. Be aware that there are some callers who may expect
you to do a Trade By after the anything call. In this case, the
caller should be more explicit by saying Square The Bases
Replace Split Square Thru with anything.
Square The Bases Plus 2 [C4]:
Do a Square The Bases but replace the Split Square Thru 2 with a Split Square Thru 4.
