注意:
-
Triple Trade means Center 6 Trade.
-
The Very Outsides (those not part of the Center 6) do not move!
-
The Trade can be either an Arm Turn 1/2 (from a Mini-Wave)
or a Partner Trade (from a Couple).
-
While dancing, be aware of your formation and your position
within the formation as much as possible. You should always know, for instance,
if you are part of the Center 6, the Center 4, or the Very Center 2.
Mentally verbalize to yourself as you dance: "I am an End",
"I am a Center", "I am third from the End", or whatever is appropriate
for the given formation.
Doing this will improve your formation awareness, and make it
easier to do calls (such as Triple Trade) that require you to
quickly identify your position within the formation.
-
Often, the hardest part of Triple Trade is determining which
dancers are part of the Center 6. This is especially true from formations
such as a Generalized 1/4 Tag, where it is easy to "see" a Center 4, but not
a Center 6. In order to find the Center 6, first search for
a single dancer located at each end along either the Head-axis or
the Side-axis. If found, see if the other 6 can be paired into (immediately adjacent)
groups of 2. If not, try looking along the other axis.
From these formations,
can you locate the Center 3 pairs for a Triple Trade? |
Variations:
- 1/2 Triple Trade
- Triple Trade 1 & 1/2 - be sure to work with the same dancer.
Trade [Basic] (Lloyd Litman 1965):
From a Couple, Mini-Wave or other applicable formation
(that is, two dancers on the same plane with shoulders toward each other).
Walk forward in an arc, changing your facing direction by 180° to exchange places,
so that each dancer ends in the other dancer's starting spot.
If both dancers start facing the same direction, pass Right-shoulders
as you meet.
