The Sequence Import window can invoked from the CSDS main menu via 'Sequence | View'.

Fields

• Source database - specifies the source file or database.
  • Use the Source Type field (at right) to specify the format of the source file.
  • (Browse) - opens a 'Select Source File' dialog box to search for the source file.
  • (View) - opens 'Notepad' to view the selected source file.
  • (Clear) - clears the 'Source database' field.
   
• Destination database - specifies the destination Sequence Database.
  • (New) - creates a new sequence database.
  • (Properties) - opens the Sequence - Database Properties dialog box for the selected destination database.
   
• List to update - specifies the list to the updated.
  • (New) - creates a new list.
  • (View) - opens the List View window for the selected list.
  • (Clear use counts) - clears the use counts for the selected list.

Flags

• Add imported sequences to print list - when checked, imported sequences are added to the Sequence Print List.
   
• Proofread non-proofread sequences on import - when checked, the program will attempt to proofread any sequences that are not marked as proofread.
   
• Ignore parse problems - when checked, parse problems are ignored.
   
• Skip duplicate sequences - when checked, as each sequence is processed, the destination database is searched to see if that sequence already exsits in the database. If so, the sequence is not imported.
