How to manually install SQROT on an old computer, such as Windows XP or Windows 7.
If you receive the following error message, you may need to manually install the Rotation Program...
Error 13 - The requested security protocol is not supported
How to Manually install SQROT

Close the SQROT program (if open).

Uninstall the SQROT program.
via Windows system setting 'Add or remove programs'.

Create two folders.
-
C:\SqrotExe - to contain the SQROT program and executable files.
-
C:\SqrotData - to contain SQROT data files.
- Also create subfolder C:\SqrotData\MDB
-
Copy the executable files into folder C:\SqrotExe.

Open a web browser to page https://www.ceder.net/csds2/
-
Find the latest SQROT installation zip file (e.g., sqrot2publishXXX.zip)

Click on the above link in your browser to download the zip file.

Using a Windows File Explorer, double-click on the downloaded zip file to open it.

Drill down two folders...
- Double-click on Application Files
- Double-click on Sqrot_1_0_0_xx

Extract all files from Sqrot_1_0_0_xx to C:\SqrotExe

Press the 'Extract all' button, and select folder C:\SqrotExe
-
Clean up
-
Close the zip file and then delete it.

Copy data files to C:\SqrotData.

Click the link below to download userinfo.mdb.
Save to folder C:\SqrotData.

Click the link below to download sqrot.crd.
Save to folder C:\SqrotData.

Create folder MDB under C:\SqrotData. i.e., C:\SqrotData\MDB
Click the link below to download sqrot_help.mdb.
Save to folder C:\SqrotData\MDB.

Run SQROT.

Open a Windows File Explorer, navigate to folder C:\SqrotExe and double-click on file
'sqrot.exe' (the filetype is 'Application').

When prompted for the application data folder, enter C:\SqrotData

When prompted for your user key, enter it.

Create shortcuts to SQROT

From the SQROT main menu, select 'File | Create program shortcut...'

Press the 'Create All Shortcuts' button.
