Music Filter Buttons are located near the top of the following windows:
- Edit Music Database
- Music Database (Load from)
- Music Quick List
Pressing a
Filter Button will filter and sort the data
in the music grid to a preset configuration.
Each filter button has an associated function key (F1 to F10) to quickly invoke the button.
For example, pressing the
button above will filter the grid to only show
patter music marked with a rating of 5.
How to set a Filter Button (the easy way)
Example:
Setting F6 button to "Singing Calls"

Enter 'singer' in the Find Panel

Make sure no other filters are set
If the lower left portion of the grid has an image similar to the one shown below,
press the button to remove the filter.

Sort the grid by Title
Left-click on the header for the Title column.

Right-click on the button to set, then select 'Set button to current filter'

Enter a caption for the filter
How to set a Filter Button (generalized way)
Example:
Setting F6 button to "Royal Records", "Singing Calls" with "Rating = 5"

Filter the grid upon the desired criteria
See Grid Filters for more information.

In the column filter for Label, enter 'royal'.
If the column filter is not visible,
customize the grid
so that the column filter is visible.
Within the 'Panels' panel, make sure 'Column Filters' is checked.
Alternatively, you could type 'royal' into the Find Panel.
Doing this, however, will also find music items that have the word
'royal' as part of their song title.

In the column filter for Genre, enter 'singer'.

In the Rating header, left-click on the little filter icon
, and select '5 = Excellent'.

Right-click on the button to set, and select 'Set button to current filter'
Right-clicking on the button allows other options:

If the grid is not sorted by title, you may want to select the 'Sort by Title' option.

You may change the background and foreground colors for the button.

How to set a Filter Button using the Filter Editor
Example:
Setting F6 button to be "Royal" or "Chaparral" recordings

Press the 'Editor' button (upper left) to open the grid's Filter Editor

Set the filter to the state shown below by clicking on items and selecting
or typing as appropriate
Press 'OK' or 'Apply' then close the Filter Editor.

Right-click on the button to set, and select 'Set button to current filter'
