Couples on each end of a regular line or two-face line will turn a quarter to face each other.

 Half Square Thru 

Definition:
 

Starting with the right and alternating hands do two pull bys. Don't turn on the second pull by.

Starting with the left and alternating hands, do four pull bys and don't turn on the fourth pull by. Finishes with the left hand free (ordinarily for a left allemande).

Definition:
 

From a Line of 4.

Turn 1/4 in place to face away from the center of the Line.

Ends in a Single Completed Double Pass Thru formation.

An old standby--From lines: Each dancer turns individually to face the nearest end of his or her own line. Finishes in completed double pass thru formation.

 Square Thru 

Definition:
 

From facing pairs (any arrangement of sexes): A four hand movement (sometimes called Full Square Thru or Square Thru Four). Starting with a right and alternating hands, pull by and quarter in. Give a left pull by and quarter in, give a right pull by and quarter in, then give a left, pull by and DON'T TURN. The general rule on square thru is keep turning in after each pull by until the last one and then don't turn.

Definition:
 

Starting with the right, and alternating hands, do three pull bys and, in accordance with the rule, on the last pull by don't turn but move straight ahead.
