 Activate

Definition:

From parallel waves or two-faced lines: Ends circulate once. Centers Circulate once and a half. Those who can will do a "Partner" Tag (6 can), as lonesome dancers move up to the nearest end of a line. Finishes in lines facing out.

Jim Harlow 1974

This definition is from The Handbook of Modern Square Dancing by Jay King.

 Cast And Lose Your Shadow

Definition:

Same as Cast a Shadow except the lead persons walk past the trailer to allow the "Shadow" to do the 3/4 arm turn. Lead dancer loops a full 360 degrees and a little more to squeeze in beside the shadow (who has spread apart to the end by coming into the wave from the center). Got that?

 Chisel The Top

Definition:

From facing lines: Ends Pass Thru, move around the outside, pass a second dancer, keep moving and then Pass In with the third dancer. Center four meanwhile Spin the Top and Step Thru. All now Slide Thru. Finishes in lines facing, back to back or with other facings depending on the distribution of sexes for the Slide Thru.

 Snap A Top

Definition:

From facing lines: Center four Spin the Top while the ends face in (face down the line) and Half Tag with each other, then Trade and become the end two of the newly formed Tidal Wave (by adding a Single Hinge, columns can be formed). Finishes in an eight hand Tidal Wave. Comment: Usable movement except that the Snap is hard to identify.
