Definition:
 

Version #1 (Bill Harrison - 1974). Same as Remake from column formation.

Version #2 (Nonie Moglia - 1976). From columns: The lead two in each column walk in single file as in Transfer the Column but don't face in. The trailers move up shoulder to shoulder with each other (into box formation) and then Trade. Finish in parallel two faced lines.

 Cultivate 

Definition:
 

From parallel waves or eight chain thru formation: All Pass Thru (Step Thru) and the center four make a wave and swing half as the outsides Quarter Left and move ahead. Lead outside dancer becomes the end of a six hand wave as the trailing outside person moves into a four hand star at the center of the wave. Finishes as in Motivate from here. Two two hand stars and the four hand star turn half, then the inside four arm turn 3/4 as the others move up to the ends of waves. Right hand waves finish as left hand waves. Note: If started from left hand waves, the call is Cultivate Right and the outsides will Quarter Right before their move up. Finishes in right hand waves.

 Flip The Cycle 

Definition:
 

From parallel 2-faced lines: Centers facing in Touch 1/4 & Spread as centers facing out Flip between them to form a wave in the center. Ends facing out Circulate one position but pick up the end of the wave (this couple ends as the left-hand pair in the final facing-lines formation); simultaneously, the centers facing in start to Circulate and, as the meet the far center of the wave, they form a miniwave with that center and, without stopping, do a Recycle-like action to end as the right-hand couple in lines.

 Follow The Leader / Follow Your Leader 

Definition:
 

Follow The Leader - From parallel right hand waves: All step thru, those facing out Quarter Right and single file promenade one quarter around the set and face in staying in single file. Those facing in step up to a wave and arm turn 3/4. Each column now moves forward to finish in right hand column formation. (From left hand waves, all Step Thru, those facing out Quarter Left and single file promenade one quarter to the left. Those facing in step up to a left hand wave.) (Lee Kopman 1974)

Follow Your Leader - From column formation: All single file circulate two positions then Trade and Roll. Finishes in facing lines. (Nonie Moglia 1976)

COMMENT: Names too similar. [Ed. note: Lee's version won out over Nonie's but the name now used is Follow Your Leader, not Follow The Leader.]

Definition:
 

From parallel lines or two faced lines: Couples Hinge, center two dancers trade, then pick up the adjacent dancer for a couples Hinge and then a Wheel and Deal. Meanwhile the outside couples Bend the Line to face in. Finishes in double pass thru formation.

Definition:
 

From parallel waves: All arm turn 3/4 into new waves. New centers Slither (nose to nose sashay) and then arm turn 3/4 with the same dancer to form (momentary) twin diamonds. All Diamond Circulate once. Centers in the wave across the set now trade and then with the outsides to another trade. The other dancers meanwhile move up a quarter (in own half of the set) and all Wheel and Deal. Finishes in facing lines. NOTE: An entire dance.

COMMENT: The name is too close to Turnslide. This move can be called as Step Thru then Turn And Dodge.

From parallel waves or Trade By formation: Those facing out Cloverleaf as those facing in Curlicue and then Walk and Dodge. Finishes in eight chain thru formation.

This is basically the same move as Cloverdodge except one uses a Single Hinge and the other uses a Curlicue.

 Zig Zag To A Line 

Definition:
 

From facing lines: Working as couples those on the right end of each line (with inside persons acting as pivots) wheel left about a quarter into the center where the original ends meet as centers of a two faced line. Turn the line about another quarter and step forward as couples (to be the left hand couple facing out in the other line). When the right hand couples clear the center, the left hand couples do the same thing to cross through the middle and become right hand couples facing out in the other line. Finishes with two lines facing out.

COMMENT: The term Zig Zag has acquired a meaning different from the one used here; i.e., from a single file of two, lead person does a quarter right and trailing person does a quarter left.
