 Break The Line 

Definition:
 

Version #1 (author unknown). From lines of four: Ends pivot, centers walk forward 1/4. Finishes with lines facing out.

COMMENT: Use "Cast Off 1/4." This movement was once called Retreat The Line which also should be called as "Cast Off 1/4."

Version #2 (Frank Seidelman - 1970). From lines of four: End people turn 1/4 individually to face down the line; center people turn 1/4 individually to face own end of the line. Finishes in eight chain thru formation.

COMMENT: Use Quarter In (which means "Face Partner"). See also Split The Line.

 Explode The Clover 

Definition:
 

Version #1

From lines facing out: Ends "Clover" (Round Off) while the centers do a Partner Trade and Roll. Finishes in double pass thru formation. (Frank Seidelman 1969)

Version #2 -- A modification of Version #1

From completed double pass thru or Trade By formation: Those facing out Clover as the center dancers Partner Trade and a Quarter More. Finishes in double pass thru formation. (Bob Norton 1970)

COMMENT: Usable move but different interpretations. The "Explode" term does not have its usual meaning.

Explode The Clover

 Giant Hinge And Spin 

Definition:
 

NOTE: No relation to Hinge And Spin. From parallel two faced lines or regular lines: Couples Hinge. Center couples turn their two faced line 3/4 around as the outside couples move up a quarter (as in Fan the Top) to the ends. Finishes in a line of eight with couples alternately facing.
