- Two files of four facing each other (If lead dancer is a man you Surround the Man; if a girl, you Surround the Girl): Lead dancers stand pat. Second dancers move up to stand at the right side of the leader. Third person steps up to stand at the left side of the leader. Fourth dancer steps up to stand directly behind the leader (who is thus "Surrounded").
