 Star Promenade

Definition:

The ordinary Star Promenade has men in the middle in a left-hand star, with right arms around the waists of partners or other designated girls who promenade along beside the men who continue to retain the star hold in the middle. This evolved from "Ladies Center and Back to the Bar, Men to the Center with a Right Hand Star, Back by the Left, Pick up Partner Star Promenade, etc."

This definition is from The Handbook of Modern Square Dancing by Jay King.
