Definition:

In general, this call is given after another call and means for the center dancers to slide apart to become ends and for the ends to slide into the adjacent center position. Usually applies to waves or two-faced lines. NOTE: The old call Wheel and Spread does not fit this definition, but it should actually be called directionally as Wheel and Deal Outsides In or Wheel and Deal Centers In.

This definition is from The Handbook of Modern Square Dancing by Jay King.
