I quit calling in 1972 to be able to participate in the raising of our family. I had called 15 years, starting in Oklahoma with live music, calling for 2 clubs in Hawaii for 3 years while in the service, in the LA area (San Diego to San Francisco) for a year and a half (where I was asked to record Two Timin' Gal for Sunny Hills) before moving to Colorado where I called for 10 years till I stepped down. Wanda and I returned to dancing in 1991, but not to calling regularly. I call a night now and then for a friends classes (so they can hear another voice), have done some one-night, benefit and promotional things, call a night each year at the club where we dance, and call at the Denver Area Hall of Fame Dance each year since 2008 when we were inducted. It has been a joy for Wanda and I to dance together after years of not being able to, due to calling almost nightly. We are blessed as we encounter dancers who danced to us when I was active and people we were privileged to teach to dance years ago. We also thoroughly enjoy Round Dancing. We belong to The Grand Squares and The Outpost Rounders in the southeast part of the Denver area.
