Robert "Bob" Dean Householter, died Sep. 21, 2005, at Russell Regional Hospital, at the age of 71. The son of Alfred and Almeda (Lawson) Householter, he was born on Apr. 9, 1934, at Beloit. He graduated from Beloit H.S. and attended Emporia St. College for 1 1/2 years. He married Betty King, June 10, 1955, at Barnard. They moved to Russell, KS in 1974. He worked in retail business in the Russell area for many years. Also, he drove a school bus route. He was well known as a square-dancing caller. He traveled around Kansas and to NE, CO and OK to call dances. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was part of the choir; the Hand Bell Choir and the State Square Dance Caller's Assoc; a member of TOPS; Senior Citizens Center; and Collector's Club; and was a Silver Haired Legislator.

Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; two daughters, Jerrie Lynn Parsons and husband Martin; and Lea Anna Reddig and husband Doc, all of Russell; a son, Robert Dean Jr. and wife Kourtenay, Pratt; nieces and nephews; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held Sept. 26, 2005 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Russell. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date. Memorials to Senior Citizens Center or Trinity United Methodist Church Choir may be sent to Russell Funeral Home, Russell.
