Travis Dean "T.D." Brown, age 82, a longtime resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away April 19, 2009. He was born May 29, 1926, in Scranton, TX. Mr. Brown proudly served his country in the United States Army in WWII, and was a FAA Pilot Examiner for 29 years. He was the owner and operator of Rockwall Aviation, located at the Municipal Airport, from 1965 until 1982. Mr. Brown was also a square dance caller and instructor, as well as a member of the North Texas Callers Association. He was a member of the Square Dance Callers Hall of Fame and enjoyed his association with many people. Mr. Brown was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rockwall. He is survived by his daughter: Shirley Brown of Irving, TX; siblings: James Brown of Tomball, TX, Janie Lowe of Arlington, TX, Geneva Ethridge of Brownwood, TX, Martha Cole & husband David of Bangs, TX, and Otis Brown & wife Lily of Cumberland, MD; grandchildren: Jason Brown of Irving, TX, and Wendi Carson of Garland, TX; and great grandchild: Trevor Carson of Garland, TX. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. & Mrs. Otis Brown; wife: Frances Brown; daughter: Carolyn Carson; son: Travis Dwayne Brown; and granddaughter: Deanna Prince. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Pastor Jim Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Rockwall Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
