Ross Lingle was born Feb. 26, 1922 at Lancaster, SC. He graduated from Blair High School and was a member of the Baptist Church. He married Clariece Tabb Jan. 19, 1946 in Altus. Lingle was a supervisor for Fairmont Foods for 18 years. He was a greyhound breeder, a National Greyhound Association committee member and a nationally-known square dance caller and instructor. Lingle died in October 2002. Survivors include sons David Lingle and wife Billie, Marble Falls, TX; John Lingle and wife Leslie, Altus; and Joey Lingle, Altus; one sister, Marian Blackwell, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
