Born in Oklahoma, H.A. ("Decko") Deck started calling in 1950 in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. In 1954, "Decko" was transferred to the Ottawa area and was influential in developing square and round dancing there. "Decko" Deck received the CALLERLAB Milestone Award at the Nashville, TN Convention in 1989. He was also an Emeritus Caller Coach. In 1999 he received his 50 years calling certificate. "Decko" passed away on August 5, 2010.
