Profile in Callers and CuersJimmy Roberson started calling full time and taught a beginner class in 1986. He now calls Plus and Advance on Weekends and Festivals. In 1987 he started "Lightning Records". In June of 1998 he recorded "My Rock" on Red Boot Records and now, with Jerry Biggerstaff, records on a new square dance label, Platinum Records. Jimmy & Janie started the Student Jubilee in Morehead City, NC in February of 1995. In February 2002 they had sixty-one squares. That is 500 square dancers! This festival has turned into one of the largest square dance in North Carolina. Jimmy is President of the North Carolina Callers Association and is an accredited member of CALLERLAB. He is a member of Callerlab's Quarter Century Club in recognition of outstanding service to the square dance activity. He also is a member of the South Carolina Callers Association.
