Bruce Stotts |
Square dancing started for the Stotts' family in 1949, just dancing at first, but Bruce got the bug to start calling.
Bruce's first real calling assignment was for the "Wagon Wheeler's" of Bakersfield, at Carpenter's Hall, and he often mentioned his appreciation of them for accepting him as their club caller, and helped him along through those rough times that always haunt the memories of caller's past.
In Fresno Bruce was active in the caller's association, and served as secretary of the group. Bruce was very active in several clubs including "Bar None" and "Krazy 8", plus many outside engagements.
Bruce taught many beginners in the art of calling, and Bruce and Beverly were a "Team" in teaching and calling, of course Beverly didn't do any calling, but Bruce always said "She get's credit for a lot of the hard work".
Bruce was known as "Poppy" to his children, grand children, and great grand children.
Bruce and Beverly were married 56 years until his passing Jan. 9, 1999. Beverly (Nana) Stotts passed away 01/19/12, age 83.
