Profile in Callers and Cuers Lorena C. "Lori" Morin, 70, of Sand Dam Road, Chepachet, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of David V. Morin. They had been married for 48 years.
Born in Sterling, CT, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lorena (Stone) Rose. She had lived in Chepachet for 48 years.
Lori started calling in 1988 and formed the Ruffles 'N Beaus Square Dance club in 1989. She belonged to the Narragansett Caller's Association, Connecticut Caller's Association, NECCA, Callerlab, RI Square Dance Federation and RI Foundation, Square and Round Dance Foundation of NE. Lori was a yodeling caller and recorded on Silver Sound Records. She was also owner of Lori's Beauty Salon in Chepachet before retiring due to illness in June, 2013.
Besides her husband Dave, she is survived by her children: David L. Morin and his wife, Karen of Thompson, CT, Leanne Warhol and her husband, Ken Parent of Foster, Daniel D. Morin and his wife, Laura of Chepachet, her grandchildren: Chelsea, Samantha, Ashley, Nathan, Rylee and Rachel Morin, Joshua Warhol and Joey and Jordan Parent.
A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and Friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 10am in St. Eugene's Church, 1251 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Visitation omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Square Dance Foundation of NE or RI Cancer Society.
