Shade Recordings came about as a result of the Advanced Singing Call school founded by Wade Driver of Rhythm Records and co-sponsored by Shauna Kaaria of Chic Recordings. Focused on the development and presentation of singing calls with guidance from both the male and female perspectives, students would each be recording a singing call to be released at the conclusion of the school. Shade Recordings was created in 2023 to produce those singing calls.
